"helping to build a future that is kinder, smarter and more globally interconnected"

Pearl Sakoane

Hi, I'm Pearl. I'm the founder and Director of Medi Trip.

Pearl Sakoane

For several years, I have been on a personal mission to create something truly special for people like me who wanted to give back in a meaningful way. I started out as a student volunteer on my elective abroad, during my nursing training. I was somewhat nervous, but much like you, I was determined to go somewhere new and do something great. I wasn't sure what to expect, not knowing what difference I could truly make, but it turned out to be the best decision I ever made.

I found the amazing volunteer programs unaffordable and the affordable programs non specific or really lacking in the medical knowledge to support my needs as a vocational volunteer. I felt there should be a better option out there and worked to bridge this gap for people craving meaningful travel. That's when I founded Medi Trip.

Medi Trip was created to give brilliant and skilled people an opportunity to do something great. I wanted to open a whole new world to talented medical professionals, students hungry for knowledge and passionate volunteers. We aim for nothing less than the best for our Medi Trippers aiming to provide you with the best experience. And we believe the higher the quality of the experience, the more we are able to give back to our local projects.
