The world was once told "it always seems impossible until it's done". The man who said this spent 27 years as a political prisoner on an isolated island; going from inmate to one of the greatest Presidents of modern times. He changed the course of history and stood firm in the face of adversity with human compassion and love as his footpath.

"no man is an island and we cannot

foster growth by only looking inwards"

We honour great humans not simply by looking in adoration but by following their example. This moment in human history is no different. While we are all living day to day to survive, trying to simply get through to other side of this crisis, we must remember our humanity in the grander scheme of things. It is easy to get wrapped up in self preservation, it's natural, we need to do all we can to survive. However no man is an island and we cannot foster growth by only looking inwards. Around us are people we may not realise we need, we care for and that we are responsible for. Consider your privilege. The privilege to self isolate, to work from home, to earn from the comfort of your home, to know your government is looking after you. Believe it or not, these are privileges. Not everyone is privy to those same comforts. As I've mentioned before, there are millions of people who do not have those choices. Millions who must get up and out to earn a living everyday as primary earners, as mothers, as sons or daughters who's families are relying on their income to eat and also survive, just like you. We cannot run from the responsibility we have in helping. We cannot deny our ability to get involved meaningfully and preventing destitution and suffering of those who do not hold similar privileges. We must act. It's as simple as that.

"This is for them"

And so we act. We have begun giving out free reusable masks to those who are the corner stones, the spirit, the soul of our community. For those who get up and earn everyday knowing they're risking their health. Those who's families rely on them to be healthy, to bring home an income and to support countless others. Thos who's country's developing economy relies on them to get up and go everyday. This is for them. We do this for them.

Thank you!
